Take Off Wallart is a monumental architectural painting installation that transforms the facade of a psychiatric hospital through innovative artistic expression and purposeful design. Created by Czech artist Lenka Polivkova, this large-scale artistic intervention measures 15 meters by 15 meters and employs sophisticated 3D effects to create an illusion of dynamic movement through space. The design concept ingeniously incorporates existing architectural elements, particularly turning the building's windows and utility wires into integral components of the composition rather than viewing them as obstacles. The artwork depicts flowing sails in white and blue hues, symbolizing purity and hope, which interact with surrounding clouds and sky to create an ever-changing visual experience. The installation's dual purpose serves both the internal audience of hospital patients, offering a metaphorical journey of hope, and external viewers who encounter the transformed building. Executed by a team of three academic painters using specially designed templates and high-quality facade colors, the work demonstrates a masterful blend of modern computer graphics and traditional painting techniques. This innovative approach to architectural art earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition, receiving an Iron A' Design Award in the Fine Arts and Art Installation Design category. The installation's significance lies in its ability to transform an institutional environment into a powerful visual metaphor of hope and freedom, while maintaining functional considerations and creating a meaningful dialogue between architecture, art, and therapeutic environment.
