Taisi Personal Residence

Taisi Personal Residence

Taisi Personal Residence is an exemplary private residential project located in the urban region of Taoyuan, Taiwan, distinguished by its sophisticated fusion of traditional Asian architectural elements and contemporary design principles. Completed in 2019, this 83-square-meter dwelling was meticulously crafted to serve the dual purpose of a personal sanctuary and business meeting venue for an entrepreneurial couple. The architectural composition draws profound inspiration from the historic Taoyuan Martyrs' Shrine, incorporating elements from Tang dynasty Chinese architecture, Japanese design aesthetics, and modern Taiwanese architectural sensibilities. The residence showcases exceptional material selection, featuring native wood species including Rain tree and Taiwan Cypress, complemented by specialized lotos plaster and distinctive bricks sourced from Toki City in Japan's Gifu Prefecture. The interior design demonstrates remarkable spatial efficiency within its 2.6-meter height constraint, incorporating innovative storage solutions for books, gifts, and family artifacts while maintaining structural integrity through enhanced shock-resistant capabilities. A notable feature is the adaptable kitchen design, which can be either open or enclosed, creating a vintage atmosphere that harmonizes with the overall tranquil environment. The project, which garnered the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies excellence in spatial planning, with careful attention to natural light manipulation through strategically placed windows that enhance the wooden textures and wall surfaces, creating an atmosphere of spaciousness and serenity.
