Taipei C House Residence is an exemplary residential interior design project completed in February 2020, located in Beitou District, Taipei City, Taiwan, that masterfully integrates post-modern spatial concepts with traditional Japanese Wabi-Sabi philosophy. The 92.5-square-meter residence showcases an innovative approach to contemporary living spaces through its sophisticated use of materials and thoughtful spatial organization. The design, created by Chu-Cheng Chang and Pi-Chuan Pai, features distinctive terrazzo cylinders and laser-sculpted wave panels that create an irregular, post-modern spatial expression in the public areas. The residence's layout encompasses an entrance, dining room, living room, kitchen, master bedroom, child bedroom, two bathrooms, and a study room, all unified through consistent material choices and design elements. The project's distinctive characteristics include the deliberate exposure of structural elements, with beams and pillars integrated as aesthetic features, enhanced by indirect lighting at ceiling joints and arc-shaped corners crafted in terrazzo. The designers have prioritized child-friendly features while maintaining aesthetic sophistication, incorporating continuous stone flooring and floor-to-ceiling windows that maximize natural light penetration. The interior's forest-inspired imagery, combined with honeycomb and cave-like elements, creates a harmonious connection with the natural environment. This exceptional design earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition, receiving a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to residential space design and its successful integration of functionality with aesthetic excellence.
