Symphony Of Lights Residence

Symphony Of Lights Residence

Symphony of Lights Residence is an award-winning residential interior design project that masterfully integrates traditional Chinese color psychology with contemporary minimalist aesthetics. Located in Taipei, Taiwan, this sophisticated living space demonstrates an innovative approach to modern residential design through its thoughtful incorporation of black, white, and brown color schemes, symbolizing health, academic performance, and wealth respectively. The design, conceived by Yi Ta Lee and team, features a revolutionary interpretation of traditional shrine design, transforming it into a modern sanctuary while maintaining its spiritual significance. The space is distinguished by its ingenious manipulation of natural and artificial lighting, achieved through embedded LED line lights and strategic ceiling construction that creates an illusion of light flowing from the exterior. The residence incorporates large-format matte thin tiles in public areas, wire-brushed wood grain finishes, titanium-plated metal accents, and environmentally conscious 3M film applications instead of conventional paint. A central lowered TV wall serves as a multifunctional study area, complemented by custom-made cabinetry that combines woodwork and iron elements. The living and dining areas flow seamlessly into one another, offering panoramic mountain views through expansive French windows, while the kitchen features practical pocket sliding doors and an island dining table configuration. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies excellence in spatial planning, material selection, and lighting design, creating a harmonious balance between functionality and aesthetic sophistication.
