This ingenious design, created by Baowen Zhao, addresses common issues encountered with conventional condiment bottles by incorporating a dynamic internal structure that facilitates easier dispensing of spices and seasonings. The design features a sophisticated dual-layer construction consisting of an outer metallic case and an inner transparent plastic bottle with a metal cap, complemented by a protective silicone ring around the cover. The bottle's distinctive mechanism operates through a pivotal point that allows the inner container to swing laterally, making contact with the outer case to dispense condiments through three strategically placed holes in the cap. This thoughtful design eliminates the common problem of condiment blockage and the need for forceful shaking or tapping, which often results in excess seasoning accumulation around bottle openings. With dimensions of 45mm in width, 24mm in depth, and 75mm in height, the Swing pot demonstrates exceptional ergonomic consideration and functional efficiency. The design's innovation and practical utility were recognized with a Golden A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design category, highlighting its significant contribution to everyday culinary experiences. The development process, which took place in Hamburg during 2014, involved extensive research into user behavior and common frustrations with traditional condiment dispensers, resulting in a solution that seamlessly combines functionality with aesthetic appeal.
