Swan Magazin Rack is an innovative furniture design piece that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of form and function, drawing inspiration from the elegant posture of a swan with open wings. Created by designers Elmira Deldari and Marzieh Hami, this sophisticated magazine storage solution features distinctive curved sidewalls that mirror the graceful silhouette of swan wings, demonstrating a masterful blend of organic aesthetics and practical functionality. The design, which earned the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, comprises a simple plywood base for magazine storage, complemented by two wing-shaped plywood sidewalls that serve dual purposes as both lateral support and multifunctional elements. The innovative design incorporates thoughtful features where one wing transforms into a convenient side table for beverages, while the other wing includes specialized slots for bookmarking, addressing common user behaviors in reading environments. Measuring 550mm in height, 350mm in width, and 720mm in length, the rack's dimensions are carefully calculated to ensure optimal utility while maintaining an elegant presence in any space. The manufacturing process employs sophisticated techniques including molding, laser cutting CNC, and premium plywood construction, resulting in a piece that exemplifies minimalist design principles while offering enhanced functionality.
