Swab Box Easy-to-pick Swab Box

Swab Box Easy-to-pick Swab Box is an innovative packaging design solution that revolutionizes the traditional cotton swab container through thoughtful ergonomic considerations and user-centered design principles. This groundbreaking homeware design, created by Chinese designer Yibo Fu, addresses a common yet overlooked challenge in personal hygiene product packaging - the difficulty of accessing cotton swabs, particularly when first opening a new package. The design's distinguishing feature is its deformable silicone bottom, which enables users to push upward, creating varying heights of cotton swab presentation for easy individual selection. This ingenious mechanism not only enhances accessibility but also promotes hygiene by minimizing unnecessary contact with surrounding swabs. Measuring 90mm x 90mm x 160mm, the container maintains a practical footprint while incorporating this revolutionary functionality. The design emerged from comprehensive research indicating that 83.3% of users found traditional cotton swab packaging problematic, particularly regarding initial access. This innovative solution, which garnered recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, demonstrates how subtle design modifications can significantly impact daily user experiences. The project, developed between November 2018 and January 2019, exemplifies the intersection of functional efficiency, material innovation, and user-centered design thinking, offering a practical solution that enhances both user experience and hygiene standards in personal care product packaging.
