Suspender Belts
A suspender belt, also known as a garter belt, is a piece of lingerie worn around the waist that is designed to hold up stockings or hosiery. The belt typically has four straps, two in the front and two in the back, that attach to the top of the stockings. The straps are adjustable to ensure a comfortable fit and to prevent the stockings from slipping down. Suspender belts were first introduced in the 1920s and were popular throughout the 20th century, particularly during the 1940s and 1950s. Suspender belts are typically made from a variety of materials, including satin, lace, and mesh. They may be embellished with bows, ribbons, or other decorative elements. Some suspender belts may also include additional features, such as detachable straps or adjustable garter clips, to further customize the fit. While suspender belts were traditionally worn as a functional undergarment, they have also become a popular fashion accessory in recent years. Many modern suspender belts are designed to be worn as outerwear, paired with high-waisted skirts or pants for a retro-inspired look.
