Surrounded Residential Hospitality Space

Surrounded Residential Hospitality Space

Surrounded Residential Hospitality Space is an innovative architectural and interior design project located in the Yilan Plain, Taiwan, that masterfully integrates natural surroundings with residential hospitality functionality. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project, completed in 2019, spans 245 square meters and draws inspiration from traditional Chinese poetry, particularly Wang Zhizhi's contemplation on mountain views. The design's most distinctive feature is its progressive spatial narrative that mirrors the experience of mountain climbing, with each floor offering a unique perspective and ambiance that corresponds to different elevational viewpoints. The structure incorporates a sophisticated mountains-shaped screen wall that serves as both an architectural focal point and a viewing framework for the surrounding landscape. The material palette combines locally-sourced marble with contemporary elements such as wood leather board, titanium plating, and antique mirrors, creating a harmonious blend of traditional and modern aesthetics. The space functions as both a weekend retreat and a professional meeting venue, featuring carefully curated hospitality areas that facilitate both relaxation and business discussions in a natural setting. The design's innovative approach to spatial organization and material selection demonstrates exceptional attention to environmental integration and functional versatility, while its sophisticated interpretation of traditional Chinese architectural principles in a contemporary context showcases outstanding design acumen.
