Sunlight Residential Apartment
Sunlight Residential Apartment is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies thoughtful space optimization and contemporary living solutions for a family of three. Located in Taipei and completed in December 2020, this innovative design transformation was conceived by designers Liu Chichuan, Chen Yunju, and Fang Renkai, who masterfully addressed the challenges of creating a harmonious living environment. The design's primary achievement lies in its intelligent spatial reorganization, connecting the originally narrow living room with an open kitchen to create a fluid, interactive family space. Distinguished by its Nordic-inspired aesthetic sensibilities, the apartment features a sophisticated color palette, including a signature purple-toned TV wall that serves as a visual focal point while simultaneously creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. The designers implemented several architectural solutions to enhance spatial perception, including the strategic trimming of large beams to extend ceiling height and reduce visual pressure. Storage solutions were meticulously integrated throughout the space, with particular attention paid to bedroom areas where overhead cabinets featuring light wood grain finishes maintain both functionality and aesthetic coherence. The project, which garnered an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional material selection through its thoughtful combination of tile flooring, woodwork veneer, and ultra-abrasive wood flooring, complemented by specialized paint treatments.
