Sunlight Residential

Sunlight Residential

Sunlight Residential is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies contemporary Nordic aesthetics within a three-bedroom, two-living room residential space, masterfully crafted by designer Si Yun Chen. The design philosophy centers on harmoniously integrating natural elements with urban living, featuring a sophisticated color palette that combines white bases with wood grain accents throughout the space. The project, completed in 2020, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its open-concept layout that promotes family interaction while maintaining distinct functional zones. The design's distinguishing characteristics include its thoughtful integration of indoor and outdoor environments, particularly evident in the strategic placement of elements that maximize natural light and capitalize on views of farmland, sea, and urban landscapes. The master bedroom incorporates an elegant blue palette and an innovative L-shaped couch positioned along sea-facing windows, while children's rooms feature vibrant yet balanced color schemes including pink, gray, and blue tones. A notable technical achievement is the designer's creative solution to structural challenges, such as transforming a potentially awkward beam above the sofa into an architectural feature that delineates space while maintaining visual cohesion. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases exceptional attention to detail in its material selection, color coordination, and spatial organization, establishing a harmonious living environment that successfully balances aesthetic appeal with practical functionality.
