Sun Rose Wine Label

Sun Rose Wine Label

Sun Rose Wine Label is an award-winning packaging design that exemplifies minimalist aesthetics and thoughtful visual storytelling in wine branding. Created by Greek designer Antonia Skaraki in collaboration with designers Evri Makridis and copywriter Sotiria Theodorou in 2018, this innovative label design draws inspiration from the natural phenomenon of sunset, utilizing undersaturated colors that complement rather than compete with the wine's natural hue. The design's distinctive approach places the logo strategically at the horizon line, creating a visual metaphor that connects the earth-bound elements of winemaking with the celestial positioning of the sun, while incorporating a clever wordplay on sun rose. This environmentally conscious design, produced using glass and paper materials, demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of both functional packaging requirements and artistic expression. The label's composition carefully arranges essential wine information along the horizon line, representing the terrestrial elements that define the wine's character. Through its minimal yet expressive design language, the label successfully communicates the wine's premium quality without resorting to ornate embellishments. The project, which emerged from comprehensive market research and mood board development, earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, acknowledging its creative excellence and innovative approach to wine label design. The design's success lies in its ability to present essential information to oenophiles while maintaining an elegant, understated aesthetic that enhances the overall wine experience.
