sun Lighting is an innovative lighting fixture design that exemplifies the principles of early modernism and Bauhaus school aesthetics, created by Iranian designer Melika Sarraf. This sophisticated lighting solution harmoniously combines functional illumination with artistic elements, focusing on the coordination of Gestalt principles within interior design contexts. The design, which received recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, features a thoughtfully balanced composition utilizing red Beech wood for the main body and metal for the supporting structure, measuring 80x55x15 centimeters. The fixture's design philosophy emphasizes simplicity and versatility, making it suitable for diverse environments including cafes, libraries, galleries, and residential spaces. Drawing inspiration from basic and primitive visual elements, the design demonstrates a careful consideration of scale and proportion, while maintaining a strong connection to modernist design principles. The project, completed in Tehran in May 2017, represents a significant achievement in contemporary lighting design, particularly in its approach to creating visual pleasure through fundamental forms.
