Stumbras Vodka Labels is an award-winning packaging design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Lithuanian vodka-making heritage with contemporary aesthetic sensibilities. Created in 2013, this innovative label design collection adorns a series of traditional vodkas, including Classic, Rye, and Potato variants, and features distinctive visual elements that pay homage to historical craftsmanship while appealing to modern consumers. The design's most notable characteristics include a carefully curated green glass bottle that serves as a unique brand identifier, complemented by labels featuring curled cut-out forms reminiscent of vintage photographs, creating a nostalgic connection to the past. The composition incorporates a slanted bar at the bottom that enhances the classic symmetrical layout, while specialized fonts and colors are employed to distinguish each sub-brand within the collection. The design utilizes advanced production techniques including flexo printing, cold foil application, and embossing to achieve its sophisticated appearance. The labels, measuring 70mm in width and 220mm in height, are applied to 500ml bottles, creating an optimal canvas for storytelling through design. The project successfully addresses the challenge of making traditional products relevant to contemporary consumers by incorporating historical dates significant to Lithuanian vodka-making traditions and legends based on authentic facts. This innovative approach to packaging design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, acknowledging its excellence in combining cultural heritage with modern design sensibilities.
