Studio Family Residential is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the successful transformation of a former office space into a dual-purpose residential and commercial photography studio, completed in January 2022 in Taoyuan. This sophisticated 191.4-square-meter space demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its ingenious division between public and private areas, facilitated by a strategic sliding door system. The design, created by Tsai-Wei Chang, masterfully addresses the complex challenge of combining family living with professional photography requirements through thoughtful spatial organization and versatile functionality. The public area maintains an open, expansive layout ideal for both family activities and professional photo shoots, while utility lines and hallways are cleverly concealed to maximize spatial efficiency and maintain aesthetic cleanliness. Notable design elements include a carefully considered lighting system with embedded fixtures that avoid reflective materials, accommodating professional photography needs while ensuring comfortable family living. The workspace integration features a desk positioned behind the sofa, topped by a sloping roof extension that artfully delineates work and play areas while maintaining a casual atmosphere. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, showcases innovative solutions for modern living requirements, particularly in the context of remote work and family life integration. The design's emphasis on mobile furniture and adaptable spaces allows for dynamic reconfiguration based on changing needs, while multiple buffer zones in the private area ensure adequate storage and protected play spaces for children.
