Stone House Residential is an award-winning architectural masterpiece situated in the countryside of São Paulo, Brazil, exemplifying a harmonious integration of natural materials and contemporary design principles. This single-story residence, completed in January 2018, represents a sophisticated approach to modern living through its thoughtful segregation into three distinct functional blocks - social, intimate, and service areas. The design philosophy centers on creating a private sanctuary that maintains a profound connection with its natural surroundings, particularly through the strategic use of glass walls in social areas that offer unobstructed views of the surrounding woodland. The structure's architectural innovation lies in its floating concrete ceiling supported by prestressed beams spanning 12 meters, which rest upon two commanding stone walls. The material palette exclusively features natural elements including stone, glass, concrete, and wood, reflecting a commitment to organic architecture. The social area's design allows for seamless indoor-outdoor integration through extensive glass frames leading to a spacious porch overlooking the woods, while imposing stone walls ensure privacy from neighboring properties. The private wing connects six bedrooms via a garden-accessible hallway, and the service area maintains operational discretion through a separate entrance. This exceptional residential project, designed by Hueb Ferreira, garnered international recognition by winning the Golden A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category in 2019, acknowledging its innovative approach to contemporary residential architecture and its successful integration of privacy considerations with open-plan living concepts.
