Starry Night Lighting is an innovative ceiling-mounted luminaire that draws inspiration from the celestial constellation Ursa Major, commonly known as the Seven Stars. Designed by Nima Bavardi and Saber Sajadi, this sophisticated lighting fixture masterfully combines functional illumination with astronomical aesthetics, featuring seven precisely positioned LED lights that mirror the iconic star pattern. The design, which garnered recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, employs black anodized metal as its primary material, creating a striking contrast with the cool, moonlit LED illumination. The fixture spans 120 centimeters in length, with each star element measuring 4 centimeters in radius, carefully engineered to provide optimal light diffusion through ergonomically considered placement angles. This thoughtful arrangement ensures superior illumination coverage while maintaining the artistic integrity of the celestial representation. The design philosophy behind Starry Night Lighting extends beyond mere functionality, incorporating elements of mythology and agricultural timing traditions associated with the Ursa Major constellation, creating a meaningful connection between ancient celestial observation practices and contemporary interior design.
