This distinguished collection, designed by Pavit Gujral and recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Jewelry Design category, draws its inspiration from the designer's scuba diving experiences in the Andaman Islands, capturing the celestial symbolism and organic beauty of starfish in precious metals and gems. The collection features meticulously crafted pieces set in 18K gold, incorporating over 4,000 precious stones including Orange Sapphires (53.92 carats), Tsavourite Garnets (25.47 carats), Rubies (13.50 carats), Pink Sapphires (13.23 carats), and GH VS Diamonds (35.73 carats), complemented by 202.61 carats of Tahitian Pearls. Each piece demonstrates exceptional technical prowess, featuring innovative shell-shaped clasps and a sophisticated starfish-on-starfish construction that required advanced welding techniques. The manufacturing process integrates contemporary technology, beginning with CAD drawings for precise specifications, followed by traditional hand-setting of stones and meticulous polishing. The collection comprises a necklace (480mm x 60mm x 10mm), bracelet (180mm x 60mm x 10mm), and earrings (60mm x 50mm x 10mm), each piece embodying the collection's commitment to anatomical accuracy and artistic interpretation of marine life. The design process, spanning from December 2021 to July 2022, involved extensive research into starfish anatomy and movement patterns, resulting in a collection that seamlessly combines wearability with artistic excellence.
