Sputnik table Table is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies minimalist geometric principles and sustainable manufacturing practices. Created by Ukrainian designer Viktor Kovtun, this circular dining table accommodates four people and represents a harmonious fusion of basic geometric elements - the circle and straight line. The table's distinctive design features steel tube legs connected to a central wooden ball containing a metal plate, which provides structural integrity and stability. Standing at 570mm in height with a diameter of 1100mm, the table demonstrates thoughtful consideration for both form and function. The design philosophy emphasizes material efficiency and environmental consciousness by utilizing wood waste, waste plywood, veneer waste, and short steel tubing in its construction. A notable aspect of the design is its user-friendly assembly system, which allows individuals to participate in the furniture-making process, fostering a unique emotional connection between user and object.
