Spring Reflection Residential Interiors

Spring Reflection Residential Interiors is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies thoughtful renovation and sustainable living principles, completed in December 2022 in Taipei, Taiwan. This 137-square-meter transformation of a 30-year-old house showcases a harmonious blend of simple, cozy aesthetics with French vintage elements, designed to accommodate a growing family comprising a couple and their anticipated child. The project's distinctive features include innovative spatial solutions, such as the ingenious concealment of a prominent staircase through a sophisticated TV wall and curved ceiling structure, connected by a seamless iron piece that enhances visual flow. The design employs a carefully curated color palette dominated by Keim beige paint, which creates dynamic visual experiences through its interaction with light. Notable architectural elements include a custom-made 350cm high screen iron piece at the entrance, defining the transition between spaces, and an artistic application of 16 different French vintage tile patterns arranged in an X-shaped collage throughout the kitchen. The project demonstrates exceptional sustainability considerations, incorporating the 3R principle (reduce, reuse, recycle) through thoughtful preservation of original elements, such as brick partitions and tiles, which were creatively integrated with German Egger wooden flooring. The 4.2-meter high ceiling is maximized through a sophisticated Z-axis design approach, with Y-shaped elements distributed throughout the space, creating an infinite visual extension. This innovative residential interior, recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a masterful balance between preservation and modern living, designed to chronicle the family's journey for the next two decades.
