Sounds Good Music Restaurant Music Restaurant is an innovative architectural and interior design project that reimagines the traditional dining experience by seamlessly integrating music, gastronomy, and social connection. Located in Shanghai's Joy City and completed in February 2018, this distinctive establishment represents a sophisticated fusion of entertainment and culinary arts, designed by Ruoyu Li and Zhou Lingling. The space is conceptually structured around the theme of connection, manifested through carefully orchestrated design elements including radial ceiling lights, glass curtain walls adorned with musical sound bars, and themed private rooms inspired by legendary international bands such as The Beatles, Daft Punk, Kanye West, and LinkinPark. The design employs materialized language of connection through lines, lights, wavebands, and warmth, creating an immersive environment where the boundaries between performers, service staff, and patrons blur harmoniously. The establishment features a curated selection of 110 globally renowned musicians and bands across various genres, their names integrated into the architectural elements, contributing to the space's cultural depth. The venue transforms from a restaurant into a bar as night falls, with strategic spatial planning that optimizes the relationship between performers and audience through thoughtfully positioned stages, bar areas, and private rooms. This innovative approach to hospitality design earned the project a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its excellence in creating a multifaceted entertainment venue that celebrates the intersection of music and dining.
