Smart Hydro Touchless Water Dispenser is an innovative hygienic water dispensing solution designed specifically to address public health concerns in shared spaces, particularly in response to the global pandemic. This sophisticated device, standing at 140 cm in height with a width of 36 cm and depth of 40 cm, employs advanced infrared sensor technology to enable completely touchless operation, significantly reducing the risk of cross-contamination in high-traffic areas such as offices, gymnasiums, and other communal spaces. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Hospitality, Restaurant and Catering Products Design category, represents a significant advancement in public water dispensing systems through its integration of smart technology and ergonomic considerations. The product's interaction design is particularly noteworthy, featuring a sophisticated dual-sensor system that monitors both container placement and hand movements to ensure precise and hygienic water dispensation. Manufactured primarily through plastic injection molding techniques, which enable complex design features while maintaining structural integrity, the dispenser incorporates an aluminum sheet internal framework for enhanced durability. The development process, which spanned from May 2020 to January 2021, involved extensive research into user behavior patterns and interaction design principles, resulting in a product that not only serves its primary function but also acts as a social focal point in shared spaces. The modern aesthetic approach, combined with its innovative technological features, positions this device as an essential advancement in public health-conscious design, offering a practical solution to contemporary hygiene challenges while maintaining user-friendly operation.
