Sliver-Touch Smart Refrigerator

Sliver-Touch Smart Refrigerator

Sliver-Touch Smart Refrigerator is an innovative home appliance design that revolutionizes food storage management through advanced biometric technology and intelligent projection systems. Designed by Fang Cheng Dong and Hai Meng Fang, this sophisticated refrigerator integrates fingerprint recognition capabilities with micro wireless projection technology to create an intuitive food tracking system. The appliance features a distinctive silver nanowire film exterior and measures 910mm in width, 700mm in depth, and 1850mm in height. Its groundbreaking functionality allows for automatic user identification through fingerprint sensors embedded in the handle, while mini wireless projectors installed on each shelf create dynamic light labels that display crucial information directly onto stored items. These projected labels indicate ownership, storage duration, and freshness levels through an intuitive color-coding system, effectively addressing the common problem of forgotten food items and potential waste. The intelligent control system maintains a comprehensive record of stored items, their owners, and expiration dates, enabling multiple users to efficiently manage shared storage space. Developed between May 2013 and August 2014, this smart refrigerator represents a significant advancement in home appliance design, earning recognition with a Golden A' Design Award in the Home Appliances Design category for its innovative approach to food preservation and user interface design. The design successfully combines practical functionality with technological sophistication, offering a solution that promotes better food management and reduces waste while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic that integrates seamlessly into modern living spaces.
