Silhouette Collection Vase is an innovative and environmentally conscious design that transforms ordinary PET bottles into elegant decorative vessels through the application of 3D-printed overlays. This groundbreaking design, created by Italian designer Libero Rutilo, represents a significant advancement in sustainable product design and upcycling methodology. The vase consists of an external shell with an inner neck fillet that screws onto standard PET bottles like a cap, effectively concealing the bottle beneath an aesthetically pleasing mesh structure. Manufactured using Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technology with Fine Polyamide material, these vases measure 12 cm in width and 25 cm in height, specifically designed to accommodate 0.5-liter bottles with PCO neck openings. The collection features various designs inspired by biomorphic shapes, fluid curves, geometric patterns, and artisanal knitted textures, each model demonstrating exceptional creativity in transforming everyday waste into sophisticated home decor. The design's significance lies in its minimal resource utilization during production and its innovative approach to waste reduction, earning it the Platinum A' Design Award in the 3D Printed Forms and Products Design category.
