ShuiFa-White Marble in the Wilderness Property Exhibition Centre is an architecturally distinctive property exhibition center located in Changqing District, Jinan, China, completed in September 2020 and recognized with the Platinum A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design. The structure's innovative design draws profound inspiration from Wang Wei's classical verse Rain passes in the pristine mountain, refreshing autumn evening. Moon shines among the pine, clear spring flows on stones, manifesting this poetic sentiment through four strategically arranged stone-like formations. The 5,200-square-meter facility employs a sophisticated facade system of white perforated panels, where the perforation density varies gradually from top to bottom, corresponding to the interior functions - higher transparency for the display areas on the first and second floors, and increased privacy for office spaces on the third and fourth floors. This innovative approach creates an ecological skin that provides natural shading while forming an intriguing gray space between the glass curtain wall and perforated exterior, enhancing the spatial experience for occupants. The design successfully addresses the challenging context of its location, situated 20 kilometers from Jinan's city centre, by creating an enclosed sanctuary that shields visitors from the surrounding undeveloped landscape characterized by high-voltage towers and wild vegetation. The architectural composition integrates pavement designs that metaphorically represent spring water flowing through rock crevices, harmoniously combining practical exhibition spaces with poetic architectural expression. The project exemplifies a successful fusion of traditional Chinese cultural motifs with contemporary architectural solutions, demonstrating exceptional innovation in addressing both functional requirements and aesthetic aspirations while maintaining environmental consciousness through its thoughtful design features.
