Shroom Pendant Light Fixture Pendant Light Fixture

Shroom Pendant Light Fixture Pendant Light Fixture is an innovative LED pendant luminaire that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of artistic inspiration and functional lighting design. Created by designers Maurice L. Dery and Jordan N. Dery, this distinctive lighting fixture draws its aesthetic inspiration from the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland, specifically interpreting the iconic mushroom form into a sophisticated lighting solution. The fixture's most striking feature is its array of thirty precisely engineered aluminum gills, crafted from thin gauge aluminum shapes, which create its characteristic mushroom-like silhouette. Standing at 406.4mm in height with a diameter of 596.9mm, this lighting fixture employs dual illumination sources: an internal LED strip that creates an ambient glow through the gill structure, and a downward-facing MR11 bulb that provides focused task lighting. The design's technical sophistication is evident in its construction, utilizing water jet machining and CNC milling techniques to achieve precise components that are subsequently finished with either clear or light gold anodizing. The interplay between light and material creates a mesmerizing visual effect, as the internal illumination interacts with the aluminum gills to produce varied patterns of light and shadow. This innovative approach to lighting design earned the fixture a Silver A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, recognizing its contribution to advancing the field of contemporary lighting design through its unique combination of artistic vision and technical excellence.
