Shine City Sales Center is an exemplary architectural and interior design project that masterfully integrates traditional Chinese aesthetics with contemporary minimalist principles. Located in Chengdu, China, this 1000-square-meter commercial space represents a sophisticated interpretation of Song Dynasty artistic sensibilities translated into modern spatial design. The project, completed in February 2020, demonstrates exceptional innovation in its approach to cultural preservation and modern functionality. The design philosophy draws profound inspiration from the Song Dynasty's aesthetic principles, particularly its pursuit of absolute simplicity in form, color, and texture. A distinguishing feature of the space is its innovative use of tawny wire glass screens arranged in arrays, meticulously crafted to emulate the texture of traditional silk, which was historically significant as a canvas medium before paper. The interior architecture employs artistic creation techniques emphasizing purity and negative space, creating a poetic atmosphere that transitions from sophisticated to simple elements. The installation includes artistically designed lighting fixtures reminiscent of ice-cracked porcelain from the Song Dynasty period, while the overall spatial composition reflects the minimalist expression of the oriental realm. This remarkable project, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases an exceptional balance between cultural heritage and contemporary design sensibilities, establishing new standards in retail space design through its thoughtful integration of historical elements with modern functionality.
