Shimao City Living Space

Shimao City Living Space

Shimao City Living Space is an exemplary contemporary residential interior design project that masterfully balances functional living requirements with artistic sophistication. Created by Chinese designer Zhenxiang Wu in 2019, this innovative living space demonstrates a refined approach to modern residential design through its thoughtful integration of contemporary art installations and meticulous attention to material selection. The design philosophy emphasizes the harmonious coexistence of rational and emotional elements, utilizing a sophisticated palette of materials including large-scale stone, slate, and wood veneer applications, complemented by strategic metal and glass accents. The space is distinguished by its precise architectural details, such as 1-centimeter embedded metal door strips and 2-centimeter recessed metal kickplates, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and technical precision. Designed for two siblings with discerning taste, the interior achieves a warm, high-class atmosphere while maintaining strong design integrity through careful color coordination and material selection. The project's artistic corridor features a deliberate arrangement of classical picture frames and abstract artwork, ingeniously addressing structural challenges while creating visual interest. This design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, exemplifies how contemporary living spaces can successfully merge practical functionality with artistic expression, creating an environment that reflects both the residents' sophisticated lifestyle and the designer's creative vision.
