SHAUGHNESSY MANOR Private Residence

SHAUGHNESSY MANOR Private Residence

SHAUGHNESSY MANOR Private Residence is an exemplary luxury residential project completed in 2015 in Vancouver, Canada, that masterfully combines traditional English architecture with contemporary amenities and sophisticated design elements. This 14,000-square-foot custom-built residence, designed by Carol Faan, showcases an extraordinary blend of opulence and functionality, featuring a dramatic two-storey foyer adorned with inlaid marble flooring, domed ceilings embellished with silver-leaf inlay and hand-painted motifs, and exotic-wood millwork. The architectural grandeur is emphasized through floor-to-ceiling columns, archways, and curved transom windows, while innovative design solutions seamlessly integrate modern conveniences such as concealed air-conditioning vents and sprinkler heads within classical architectural details. The residence incorporates several distinctive features, including an upper floor hallway that doubles as an informal art gallery, an enclosed pool area with a hand-painted mural creating an illusion of infinite perspective through forced perspective techniques, and a secret children's playroom concealed behind a wall panel. The property, which earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Luxury Design category, exemplifies sophisticated technological integration through its whole-house Control-4 system, enabling remote monitoring and interaction capabilities. The interior design scheme harmoniously balances formal entertainment spaces with comfortable family areas, featuring custom-designed metal filigree accents, crystal chandeliers, and luxurious materials throughout, while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic that transitions effortlessly between grand formal spaces and intimate family areas.
