Shanghai Qin Mansion Residential House

Shanghai Qin Mansion Residential House

Shanghai Qin Mansion Residential House is an exemplary residential interior design project completed in Shanghai, China, that masterfully transforms an ordinary living space into a sophisticated and contemporary dwelling through thoughtful spatial planning and minimalist design principles. The project, designed by Lei Fang and completed in 2017, demonstrates exceptional attention to spatial proportion and layout optimization, featuring a distinctive horizontal hall that serves as the primary circulation axis with functional areas strategically distributed on both ends. The design's most notable architectural element is its impressive floor-to-ceiling windows that forge a seamless connection with the exterior environment, while a series of white Flos chandeliers creates a deliberate interplay between void and solid spaces. A particularly innovative solution was implemented in the treatment of two structural columns within the horizontal hall, where custom corner sofas were ingeniously designed to incorporate these elements into the living space. The residence showcases sophisticated material selections, including matte paint finishes and clear tulle curtains that can be adjusted to modulate natural light and create varying atmospheric conditions. A former triple-turning staircase was brilliantly reimagined as a concealed storage solution, exemplifying the project's commitment to functional elegance. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a harmonious balance between minimalist aesthetics and practical living requirements, offering a timeless environment that facilitates contemporary urban living while maintaining a sense of tranquility and sophistication.
