Shanghai Donggang Chengfu Residential Interior Design

Shanghai Donggang Chengfu Residential Interior Design

Shanghai Donggang Chengfu Residential Interior Design is an exemplary residential interior design project located on Changxing Island, Shanghai, that masterfully integrates natural elements with contemporary living spaces across 2,110 square meters. Completed in May 2023, this sophisticated bed and breakfast development, designed by Ying Rui, represents a harmonious fusion of wabi-sabi aesthetics and Mediterranean style, creating a tranquil retreat for urban dwellers seeking respite from city life. The design philosophy emphasizes the seamless integration of natural materials, including wood, rattan, and raw stone, complemented by custom-colored tiles and artistic paint finishes that establish a serene, minimalist atmosphere. The interior spaces are thoughtfully divided into diverse functional zones, including a culturally-inspired dining area that blends Chinese and Mediterranean influences, family-oriented spaces featuring ocean-themed children's areas, and a romantic terrace with artistic wall paintings and a stargazing platform. The project's color palette predominantly employs white and wood tones, creating an inclusive and peaceful environment that resonates with the island's natural beauty. This innovative approach to hospitality design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to spatial planning, material selection, and functional versatility. The design successfully addresses contemporary travelers' evolving needs by providing multiple activity zones while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic that promotes relaxation and connection with nature.
