Setoff Commericial Space is an innovative three-storey retail and exhibition facility located in central Taipei city, designed by Chang Ming Hu, which exemplifies contemporary commercial interior design through its sophisticated integration of form and function. This 240-square-meter compound space, completed in May 2022, serves as a premier showcase for kitchenware, bathroom accessories, and building materials, featuring multiple exhibition areas across its three levels. The design philosophy emphasizes a harmonious balance between natural materials and subdued color palettes, employing low-chromatic schemes throughout the ceiling, floor, and wall treatments to create an elegant backdrop that enhances product displays. The architectural composition incorporates strategic lighting elements, including a distinctive large-shaped hanging lamp in the patio area, and employs concrete paint walls to evoke metropolitan sophistication while maintaining visual continuity. The space's innovative layout includes two distinct exhibition areas on both the first and second floors, with the third floor accommodating an additional exhibition space and office area. The design's particular attention to detail is evident in its ceiling treatment, which serves as a focal point of the architectural narrative, while the integration of light bands connecting walls and ceilings creates a sense of spatial expansion. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project demonstrates exceptional expertise in commercial space planning, with careful consideration given to seasonal display flexibility and pedestrian engagement in its high-traffic urban location.
