SERFA PLUS Armchair And Footstool

SERFA PLUS Armchair And Footstool

SERFA PLUS Armchair and footstool is a distinguished contemporary furniture ensemble that exemplifies the rich heritage of Brazilian design while incorporating modern ergonomic principles and aesthetic sensibilities. Created by renowned Brazilian designer Zanini de Zanine, this sophisticated seating solution draws inspiration from the influential works of Brazilian design masters Sergio Rodrigues and Ricardo Fasanello, seamlessly blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary functionality. The design features a harmonious combination of Tauari wood, metal components, and premium leather upholstery, showcasing advanced joinery techniques where wooden elements are precisely interlocked and reinforced with metal fixtures. The armchair, measuring 710mm in width, 840mm in depth, and 720mm in height, is complemented by a coordinating footstool of 659mm width, 512mm depth, and 338mm height. A notable feature is the adjustable headrest, which demonstrates the designer's commitment to user-centered design and optimal comfort. The piece's irreverent yet elegant aesthetic makes it versatile enough for both formal and informal settings, from residential spaces to professional environments. The design's exceptional merit was recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to combining ergonomic excellence with cultural resonance. The development process, which spanned from September 2016 to April 2017, involved meticulous research into constructive methods and careful consideration of angular relationships, particularly in the headrest design, to ensure optimal user comfort and structural integrity.
