SeekIn Office

SeekIn Office is an innovative biotechnology-inspired workplace design that exemplifies the harmonious integration of scientific aesthetics with functional office space. Located in Shenzhen, China, this 700-square-meter interior design project, completed in 2018, demonstrates a sophisticated interpretation of cellular structures through its distinctive architectural elements. The design philosophy centers on creating clarity and simplicity through a spacious layout, predominantly utilizing a white and blue color scheme that reflects both corporate professionalism and scientific precision. The space features distinctive curvilinear elements and irregular shapes that mirror cellular formations, creating an organic flow throughout the environment. The innovative lighting system incorporates LED light tubes with vinyl coverings to produce unique cellular-inspired effects, while the flooring combines self-leveling cement with PVC elements to maintain the design's fluid aesthetic. Sustainability plays a crucial role in the design strategy, manifested through the integration of indoor plants, the replacement of traditional carpeting with cement flooring, and the inclusion of a garden terrace complete with fountains and recreational areas. The office layout efficiently accommodates various functional zones, including common working areas, conference rooms, and a pantry, all designed to maximize natural light and promote employee wellbeing. This exceptional design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, acknowledging its innovative approach to workplace design and its successful integration of biophilic elements. The project, created by Ed Lau, Eric Yu, and Evans Ko, demonstrates how contemporary office design can effectively balance aesthetic innovation with practical functionality while maintaining a strong connection to nature and sustainability principles.
