Season Stool

Season Stool

Season Stool is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies contemporary living solutions for urban dwellers, particularly millennials and young professionals. Created by designer Wenhan Zhang, this multifunctional piece seamlessly combines practicality with modern aesthetics, featuring a sophisticated cylindrical form with dimensions of 300mm seat diameter, 400mm base diameter, and 510mm height. The design incorporates sustainable materials, utilizing solid wood from certified forestry sources for its interior structure and a low-formaldehyde microparticle perforated top. A distinctive feature is its hidden storage compartment beneath the removable cushioned top, which transforms the stool into a versatile side table suitable for laptops or decorative items. The design's thoughtful engineering includes a high-resistance technical fabric strap for easy cushion removal and a wooden support base that facilitates mobility while protecting against surface abrasion. This piece, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2022, addresses the contemporary challenges of urban living through its portable, space-efficient design. Its adaptability to various interior styles is enhanced by multiple color and finish options, while its storage capabilities accommodate everyday items such as phone chargers and stationery. The development process, completed between September and December 2021 in China, focused on breaking away from conventional stool design homogenization while maintaining functionality and aesthetic appeal for residential environments.
