SCRIPT Clock

SCRIPT Clock

SCRIPT Clock is an innovative digital timepiece that revolutionizes the traditional seven-segment display convention through its distinctive typographic approach. Designed by Adrian and Jeremy Wright during 2012-2013, this elegant timekeeping device represents a significant departure from conventional digital clock aesthetics by introducing a flowing, script-like typeface for numerical display. The design philosophy centers on humanizing digital numerals while maintaining functional clarity, achieved through a thoughtfully reorganized segmented display system that creates more organic, fluid numerical forms. The clock's physical design emphasizes minimalism, featuring a remarkably thin profile with a simple case available in black or white finishes, complemented by a subtle pillowed reverse side. This sophisticated timepiece incorporates a seconds display, allowing users to appreciate the graceful transitions between numbers, enhancing the dynamic visual experience. The functionality is seamlessly integrated through three flush buttons on the reverse for time adjustment, while versatile placement options are enabled through both wall-mounting capabilities and a cleverly concealed removable stand stored within the battery compartment. The SCRIPT Clock, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Digital and Electronic Device Design category, exemplifies the successful marriage of technological functionality with refined aesthetic sensibility, offering a fresh interpretation of digital time display that bridges the gap between electronic precision and typographic artistry.
