Screws Office Interior Design is an innovative interior design project completed in 2016 in Taichung City, Taiwan, that masterfully translates the mechanical essence of screw manufacturing into architectural elements for a corporate workspace. The 156-square-meter office space, designed by Mei-Lin Hsu and Ya-Ching Chuang, demonstrates a sophisticated interpretation of industrial themes through its distinctive spiral motifs and curved architectural elements. The design concept ingeniously incorporates the structural elements of screw threads throughout the space, manifesting in features such as curved walls in the partial-public meeting room and screw-head-inspired office layouts. The reception hall showcases clear spiral lines and round recessed ceiling lamps that create an sophisticated atmosphere, while the strategic use of grey glass in the meeting room effectively amplifies the visual space and creates fluid spatial transitions. A notable feature is the specifically designed meditation area, separated by an artistically conceived wall, providing the chairman with a contemplative space for strategic thinking. The design seamlessly integrates functional requirements with aesthetic elements, incorporating unpolished lounge areas, a plant wall, and a bar area that enhance the overall user experience. This project, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies how industrial inspiration can be transformed into a harmonious and functional workplace environment that balances natural elements, human-centric design, and operational efficiency. The composed atmosphere in the chairman's office, featuring dark room characteristics and grey glass elements, creates a dual-purpose space that facilitates both oversight and meditation, demonstrating the designers' thoughtful approach to executive workspace design.
