Samlee Office Office Space is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of minimalist oriental aesthetics with contemporary urban functionality. Completed in 2012 by designers Yong Cai Huang and Li Dong Cai, this 480-square-meter office space demonstrates a sophisticated approach to modern workplace design through its thoughtful integration of public areas, open-plan offices, and semi-enclosed spaces. The design philosophy draws inspiration from city metabolism and cubist principles, creating an intricate interplay between activity and stillness through transparent overlays and strategic spatial permeation. The project's distinctive feature lies in its meandering core line that connects three original architectural units, breaking away from conventional formalistic spaces to create an organic flow. Materials such as Chinese Ash, enhanced composite wood flooring, ultra-clear glass, and frosted stainless steel were carefully selected to enhance the aesthetic and functional aspects of the space. The design employs a unique four-dimensional binary relationship between people and time, achieved through triangular transparent fold lines and intentional spatial voids. This innovative approach to office design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial organization, material selection, and conceptual innovation. The project successfully addresses the challenges of modern workplace dynamics by creating an environment that facilitates both movement and contemplation, reflecting the rapid pace of contemporary urban life while maintaining a sense of tranquility through its minimalist oriental design principles.
