Saj Logo

Saj Logo

Saj Logo is a sophisticated visual identity design that exemplifies the rich maritime heritage of Omani culture through contemporary graphic design principles. Created by designer Shadi Al Hroub, this Bronze A' Design Award-winning logo artfully integrates four pioneering components: a compass, wood symbolism, wave elements, and radiant icons, each carefully chosen to represent the historical significance of shipbuilding in Omani maritime tradition. The name 'Saj' itself carries deep cultural meaning, referring to the specialized wood traditionally used in shipbuilding, establishing an immediate connection to the region's seafaring legacy. The design's visual composition features clean, angular lines that harmoniously complement the chosen typeface, creating a balanced and professional aesthetic. The logo's conceptual framework explores the profound symbolism of Omani maritime history, particularly highlighting the nation's historical role in connecting Eastern and Western hemispheres through naval trade routes. This cultural narrative is translated into a modern visual language through precise digital artwork, maintaining professional standards while preserving cultural authenticity. The design, completed in 2019 in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its execution, earning recognition at the prestigious A' Design Award competition in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category. The logo's success lies in its ability to convey complex historical and cultural concepts through minimal yet meaningful design elements, creating a versatile visual identity that effectively communicates heritage, professionalism, and contemporary design sensibilities.
