Ruilan Residence

Ruilan Residence

Ruilan Residence is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of professional culinary spaces with comfortable family living. Located in Taiwan and completed in October 2023, this 99.1-square-meter customized residence showcases a sophisticated approach to modern living through its thoughtful spatial organization and material selection. The design, conceived by Chun-Kai Yang, features a revolutionary open-plan layout that transforms a traditional closed kitchen into an interactive culinary hub, centered around a 304, 110cm bar that serves both as a dining area and social focal point. The interior's distinctive aesthetic is achieved through a deliberate contrast of dark ceilings with wood veneers in the foyer, kitchen, and dining areas, while the living spaces and bedrooms employ lighter tones to create a more intimate atmosphere. The material palette includes premium elements such as quartz stone, large slab tiles, Formica laminates, and titanium-plated boards, all selected for their durability and aesthetic appeal. A notable technical achievement is the suspended desk structure, supported by innovative steel framework and articulated glass walls. The design successfully addresses practical challenges such as kitchen ventilation and storage optimization, incorporating a hidden storage area behind the kitchen island. This project, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning that facilitates family interaction while maintaining professional functionality, particularly catering to the primary resident's profession as a chef.
