Royal Time Residence Display Center

Royal Time Residence Display Center

Royal Time Residence Display Center is an innovative architectural complex located in Taihu New Town, Suzhou, China, that masterfully blends traditional Chinese garden aesthetics with contemporary design principles. The center, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, comprises three distinct functional buildings arranged around a central courtyard, creating a harmonious dialogue between enclosed and open spaces. The architectural composition features sophisticated use of U-profile glass panels, reaching heights of up to 10 meters, complemented by gray-toned rose-gold aluminum panels and locally sourced clay bricks, creating a striking visual presence while maintaining cultural sensitivity. The complex houses a showroom for real estate presentation, a dual-purpose fitness club with a children's center, and a modern book-bar, all interconnected through thoughtfully designed transitional spaces and rain corridors. The design emphasizes fluid circulation patterns reminiscent of traditional Suzhou gardens while incorporating modern amenities for contemporary lifestyles. Notable architectural elements include varying roof structures - flat, single-sloped, and double-sloped - at different heights, creating visual dynamism. The integration of waterscape elements in the inner courtyard enhances the visitor experience and creates a seamless connection between interior and exterior spaces. The innovative use of perforated brick walls creates rhythmic patterns that interact with natural light, while the semi-transparent glass façade transforms the structure into a luminous beacon, particularly striking during evening hours. This architectural achievement successfully addresses the challenge of maintaining traditional Chinese architectural principles while meeting the social and functional needs of younger generations through its modern interpretation of communal spaces.
