Rovya Summer Home

Rovya Summer Home

Rovya Summer Home is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of mid-century Italian aesthetics with contemporary luxury living. Located along the Mediterranean coast in Egypt's North Coast, this 300-square-meter summer residence masterfully balances dramatic design elements with comfortable functionality. The architectural layout emphasizes an open-plan concept that maximizes sea views through strategic sight lines, while featuring distinctive Gio Ponti-inspired geometric flooring that serves as the project's signature design element. The interior scheme artfully incorporates modern Egyptian art, custom furnishings, and a sophisticated material palette including marble, terrazzo, and teak wood. The residence encompasses five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and multiple entertainment zones, including two comfortable seating areas and a formal dining space. The exterior design showcases a striking rectangular pool complemented by a floating teak deck and curved bar, creating an ideal setting for social gatherings. Completed in 2020 under the direction of designer Yasmina Makram Ebeid, the project earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial design and material selection. The design's distinctive features include triangular skylights that create intentional natural lighting patterns, echoing the geometric marble floor patterns, while the careful integration of black accessories, polka and striped ceramics, cork chairs, and metallic elements contributes to its refined yet playful character.
