Roots Home Carpets is an innovative interpretation of traditional Kazakh felt carpets, known as Syrmak, that seamlessly blends ancestral craftsmanship with contemporary design sensibilities. Created by Kazakh designer Assel Baimakhan, these carpets represent a significant contribution to the preservation and evolution of Central Asian textile arts. The carpets are meticulously crafted using coarse autumn sheep wool through a traditional felting process, where the natural scales of wool fibers interlock under the influence of hot water or steam to create an exceptionally dense and durable material. Distinguished by their impressive dimensions of 3000mm in length, 2000mm in width, and 100mm in height, these carpets exemplify the perfect marriage of functional design and cultural heritage. The manufacturing process adheres to environmentally conscious principles, requiring minimal specialized equipment while achieving remarkable thermal insulation properties and tactile appeal.
