Romance Of Arc Residential

Romance Of Arc Residential

Romance of Arc Residential is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of curved architectural elements with functional living spaces. Located in Taiwan and completed in July 2022, this 889.6-square-foot residence masterfully employs arc motifs throughout its design, creating a cohesive visual narrative that connects public and private spaces. The project, designed by Tai Kuan Huang, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its transformation of two bedrooms into a master bedroom and dressing room configuration, connected by thoughtfully designed arc-shaped doorways and partitions. The interior's centerpiece is a 300-centimeter kitchen island that serves multiple functions, from culinary preparation to casual dining and work activities, establishing the kitchen as the home's social nucleus. The design's materiality is characterized by a warm color palette and diverse textures, incorporating elements such as natural bamboo rattan, travertine stone, and specially treated wall surfaces that respond dynamically to natural light. Notable features include a customized living room arrangement with adaptable seating solutions, laminated umber storage frames, and a walnut solid wood dining setup that optimizes space efficiency while maintaining a café-like atmosphere. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases innovative solutions for modern living through its meticulous attention to architectural curves, material selection, and spatial functionality.
