Rewind Residence

Rewind Residence

Rewind Residence is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies sophisticated spatial planning and thoughtful consideration of dual occupant needs in contemporary living spaces. Located on the 27th floor of an apartment building, this 376-square-meter retirement residence masterfully balances privacy and openness through its innovative use of hidden doors, sliding partitions, and carefully curated material selections. The design, created by Hung-Sheng Chu and Pei-Wen Hsu, introduces a unique concept of 'time difference' in spatial arrangement, where areas can transform according to context and usage requirements. The residence features a neutral color palette enhanced by the distinctive textures of grilles, glass, marble, and wood, creating a sophisticated aesthetic harmony. Notable design elements include a wave-patterned marble TV wall that extends seamlessly, titanium-plated metal details, and symmetrical arrangements that emphasize spatial fluidity. The project's technical achievements include unified floor heights through strategic piping arrangements and the conversion to an induction-based kitchen system to accommodate open-plan requirements. The social and private areas are ingeniously delineated through hidden passageways and sliding doors, while the master bedroom incorporates an L-shaped corridor serving as a functional dressing area. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its execution, particularly in its resolution of competing spatial requirements and its innovative approach to storage solutions and circulation paths.
