Reunion Residential Apartment

Reunion Residential Apartment

Reunion Residential Apartment is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies contemporary living spaces optimized for social interaction and gathering. Located in Taiwan and completed in 2020, this sophisticated dwelling employs a dual-axis migration concept that seamlessly integrates independent and open patterns into a cohesive whole. The design's cornerstone is its dining kitchen, featuring a multifunctional island that serves as the primary hub for entertainment and social interaction. The space demonstrates exceptional architectural ingenuity through its strategic removal of unnecessary partitions, creating an open-plan layout that maintains privacy through optional dividers. Notable design elements include a layered ceiling that elegantly conceals structural crossbeams, hidden compartments for storage and utilities, and the implementation of floor-raising techniques that facilitate traditional floor-seating arrangements. The interior's material palette combines natural timber and stone with white surfaces, enhanced by abundant natural light through large windows. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases designer Cheng Hou Lin's innovative approach to modern living spaces. The design philosophy prioritizes human interaction over technological distractions, encouraging genuine social connections through thoughtful spatial planning and versatile functionality, while addressing traditional Asian architectural concerns such as feng shui principles and spatial harmony.
