Redsun Zhenghong Villa

Redsun Zhenghong Villa

Redsun Zhenghong Villa is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully blends traditional Chinese aesthetics with contemporary design elements, completed in January 2019 in Zhuji, Zhejiang, China. Located in the historic hometown of Xi Shi, a renowned beauty from Chinese ancient history, this sophisticated villa interior takes inspiration from traditional Chinese wedding dowry customs, particularly emphasizing the symbolic use of red and white silk colors throughout the space. The design, conceived by Menghua Sheng and Kamiya Zhang, approaches spatial organization from a distinctly feminine perspective, creating a harmonious balance between Eastern cultural elements and modern functionality. The villa features an enclosed living room with flexible furniture arrangements, incorporating dual-leather sofas and metallic accents that create a sophisticated dialogue between traditional and contemporary design languages. The interior employs premium materials including grey marble and dark walnut veneer, complemented by a carefully curated color palette of vermilion, dark reddish purple, coccinellin, and cyan. Notable spaces include a customized dining room emphasizing order and etiquette, a contemplative basement tea room, and individually tailored bedrooms that maintain the cohesive red theme while accommodating personal preferences. The project, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, successfully addresses the challenge of balancing traditional decorative elements with modern design requirements, ultimately achieving a harmonious expression of Eastern aesthetic principles of implicit beauty and cultural refinement.
