Redefine Classic Residence

Redefine Classic Residence

Redefine Classic Residence is an exemplary interior design project located in Taipei that masterfully blends Eastern classical elements with contemporary modern aesthetics, completed in 2019 by designer Han-Chung Liu. This 165 square-meter homestead encompasses a thoughtfully restructured layout featuring a porch, living room, dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms, and three bathrooms, demonstrating exceptional space optimization and functionality. The design's distinctive character emerges from its inspiration in Eastern classic sash windows, incorporating lattice iron elements and carefully selected classic furniture pieces to create a sophisticated cultural atmosphere. The project showcases innovative solutions for displaying the client's extensive antique collection through ingeniously designed floor slabs, hidden storage systems, and double-acting doors, effectively maximizing spatial efficiency while maintaining aesthetic harmony. A notable feature is the modern connecting sliding door system in the living room, comprising three distinct functional components that enhance the space's versatility and artistic layering. The design employs a minimalist color palette, predominantly in black and white, complemented by custom furniture, marble walls, system panels, and decorative iron elements, creating a cohesive Modern Metropolitan style that caters to retirement living and family gatherings. The project's excellence in interior space design was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in 2020 in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding achievement in combining functional innovation with aesthetic sophistication. The design successfully addresses contemporary living requirements while preserving classical elements, featuring extensive hidden storage solutions that contribute to a clean, uncluttered environment while accommodating the display of cultural artifacts and collections.
