Recliner Hanging chair is an innovative furniture design that combines the functionality of a traditional recliner with the dynamic experience of a suspended seating solution. This sculptural piece, designed by Joanina and David Pastoll, represents a harmonious fusion of form and function, featuring elegantly curved lines and organic shapes that create a cocoon-like environment for the user. The design draws inspiration from natural elements, incorporating pattern detailing that echoes the intricate veins of leaves, intersecting tree branches, and dragonfly wing patterns. Crafted meticulously by hand from either mild steel or aluminum, each piece measures 195 centimeters in length, 72 centimeters in width, and 128 centimeters in depth, weighing approximately 15 kilograms. The chair undergoes specialized E-coating for environmental protection and rust resistance, followed by powder coating that ensures durability for both indoor and outdoor use. Its considered balance point and gentle floating movement offer users an immersive relaxation experience with panoramic views of their surroundings. The design's excellence was recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to comfort and aesthetic appeal. The chair's construction involves a standardized core frame to maintain consistency in shape and comfort, while the handcrafted nature of each piece ensures uniqueness in pattern detailing, making every chair a functional art piece that combines ergonomic design with artistic expression.
