Qu4tro Stool Or Sidetable

Qu4tro Stool Or Sidetable

Qu4tro Stool or Sidetable is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies the intersection of origami principles with industrial design methodology, created by Brazilian architect Marcos Bravo. This versatile piece consists of four identical components crafted from 2mm thick sheet steel, manufactured through precise laser cutting and folding processes, culminating in a structure measuring 310mm in width, 310mm in depth, and 450mm in height. The design's fundamental concept draws inspiration from the elegant simplicity of origami, translating paper-folding techniques into industrial materials while maintaining the essential characteristics of slenderness, recyclability, and structural integrity. The manufacturing process has been meticulously optimized through parametric design principles, enabling customization and decentralized production capabilities. This approach not only maximizes material efficiency but also facilitates on-demand manufacturing and simplified logistics through stackable components. The design, which received a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, represents a significant achievement in sustainable furniture design, combining minimalist aesthetics with practical functionality. Its innovative construction method demonstrates how digital fabrication technologies can be leveraged to create sophisticated furniture pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally conscious, while its modular nature allows for efficient storage and transportation, making it particularly suitable for contemporary living spaces.
